City of O’Fallon, MO: Honeysuckle Removal


Description: Volunteers will use tools such as loopers and bow saws to cut the overgrown honeysuckle out of the walking trail path and pull it out of the walking trail. Bringing the walking trail back to life so park goers can enjoy the nature they came to experience.

Transportation Info: Volunteers will be required to provide transportation to project, carpooling is recommended.

Special Directions: We will have students meet at the entry of the walking trail to sign in and disperse supplies. A map will be provided to the project leader to show where the start of the walking trail is in the park. The students will also see Parks staff and Volunteer staff in the area where they are supposed to me. They will be able to park along the driving path of the park.

Special Instructions: Volunteers should wear - long pants/sleeves, close-toed shoes (to project from possible poison ivy and branch scrapes) Volunteers should bring - their own water bottle if they prefer Paperwork - we will only require volunteers to sign in on a sign in sheet We will provide - working gloves, tools such as loopers and bow saws, water, and snacks
