Shaw Nature Reserve: Native Seed Collection #1


Description: Volunteers will work alongside ecological restoration team members to collect native seeds across the campus of Shaw Nature Reserve. Collecting seeds from native plants is critical to ensure staff can restore the property to Missouri native flora.

Transportation Info: Volunteers are required to provide transportation to project, carpooling is recommended.

Special Directions: Volunteers will meet the Volunteer Supervisor at the main visitor center. They will follow the staff member to the assigned spot for seed collection.

Special Instructions: All work occurs off trail. Participants will be working in tallgrass prairie and woodlands. Closed toed shoes and long pants are required. Hiking shoes or boots are recommended. Do not wear sandals or shorts. You may also consider bringing bug spray and sunscreen.
